They’re here! We got our wedding photos back and I’m SO excited to share a few with you. It’s been so fun looking at them and reliving our special day and Sarah Collins Photography did a great job capturing every moment.
The day started with my bridesmaids and I getting our hair and make up done at Metamorphosis Salon while Miguel and his groomsmen got ready at Hotel Indigo. The girls hung out, ate lunch and even got dressed there, which was super convenient. Once we were all dressed and ready, we headed to the church. We were a bit early, but better early than late (side note: I’m chronically early to everything, so it wasn’t really that weird). Plus, we were able to snap some photos while waiting for the guys to arrive. Once they did, it was time for the first look. I originally hadn’t planned on doing a first look, but after giving it some thought, I decided to go for it for a few reasons. 1) if I was going to cry, I wanted to cry in front of Miguel vs. Miguel and a ton of other people 2) I wanted there to be a moment that Miguel and I could cherish together, because I knew once the day started, we wouldn’t get a ton of time together for just us. I’m SO happy with our decision to do one and the photos help me remember it like it was yesterday.
I think you know what’s next.. the ceremony! Our ceremony was held at a beautiful old church called Saint Maria Goretti and everything was smooth sailing. Though the first look helped to get the initial jitters out of the way, they all came back once it was time to walk down the aisle. The nervousness went away after a few minutes and before I knew it, we were officially husband and wife. WOOOOOO! Then it was time for photos.
We decided to take our portraits at Washington’s Landing, a little hidden gem in Pittsburgh near the 31st street bridge. The weather was perfect—in the 70s—and the photos turned out beautifully. The photos took a little over an hour and then we headed to our reception.
The reception was at Spirit and we arrived to two separate “hang out” rooms: a white and girly brides room with champagne and a dark and moody grooms room with beer and a jukebox. We didn’t capture photos of the 30 minutes spent hanging out, but the wedding party agreed it was super fun “cheers-ing” to our marriage and to the night ahead.
The reception was filled with grand entrances, wonderful speeches, our first dance, food by the Burgh Bites Truck, homemade pierogies and pupusas, a cake by Bella Christie and Lil’ Z’s Sweet Boutique and TONS of dancing. It was so much fun and I wish we could do it all over again tomorrow. Seriously, best day ever. Oh! And I swear I’ll be sharing a similar recap for our honeymoon in Italy… maybe this week, maybe next. For now, here’s a peek into our special day.

Thanks Heather! It was the best day.
Beautiful! Gorgeous! Magnificent! I’m so happy you and Miguel had a wonderful wedding. Don’t worry, I’m chronically early to everything, too. I told my family that I’ll probably start our wedding early just because it would be so “us” to arrive early.
Haha! Chronically early is better than chronically late I always say! Thanks Kaylin 🙂
Beautiful pictures! Congratulations, Erin!!!
