Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pizza dough
  • 2 tbsp olive oil divided
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes or less for less spicy
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan freshly grated, plus more as needed
  • 1/3 cup cherry tomatoes sliced
  • 3 tbsp basil chopped

Instructions

  • Let the dough sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes. Once the time is up, preheat the oven to 500° F and brush a baking sheet with 1 tbsp olive oil; set aside.
  • Roll out the dough to about 9 x 13 so it will fit nicely on the baking sheet. Transfer to the baking sheet and roll the border of the dough up slightly to create the crust.
  • Add the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil to the dough and then add the pizza sauce overtop, making sure to leave an inch of room around the whole pizza. Add the italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and cherry tomatoes.
  • Bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil and extra grated cheese. Enjoy!
