Ingredients

  • 1 4-5 lb. whole chicken
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper more or less
  • nonstick spray

Instructions

  • Combine all of the spices in a bowl.
  • If you haven’t already, remove the giblets and inner parts of the chicken. Then, pat the chicken dry as best you can with a paper towel.
  • Use your hands to rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, making sure it’s coated.
  • Spray your air fryer basket with nonstick spray, then place the seasoned chicken into it breast-side down.
  • Cook the chicken at 360° F for 50 minutes. Use tongs to carefully flip it over and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until the juices run clear and the skin is crispy. NOTE: cook times vary slightly depending on the size of chicken you’re using; always check the internal temperature.
  • Transfer the chicken to a cutting board and wait 5 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

*If you need a substitute for smoked paprika, try cajun seasoning.
*Store chicken in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
