for the apples:
- 5 large apples sliced
- 6 tablespoon water
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon arrowroot or cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350°.
Grease a 2.5 quart or 9x9 baking dish with nonstick spray. Add apples, water, brown sugar, arrowroot, and cinnamon to the dish, then stir to combine so that the apples are coated. Place baking dish in the oven and bake apples for 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, make the crumb topping. Stir oats, almond flour, sugar, pecans, cinnamon, and salt together. Then, pour butter into the bowl and stir to combine.
Once the apples are done, remove baking dish from the oven and sprinkle the crumb topping on top. Place dish back into the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the oats are golden brown on top. Wait 5 minutes after removing from the oven before serving; serve with ice cream and enjoy!
