Citrus Watercress Smoothie

  • 1 bunch watercress
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1 orange*
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger
  • 1/2 star anise**
  • 1/4 cup water or more


  • Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until smooth. Start with 1/4 cup water, but add more if you're having trouble getting everything to blend.
  • Enjoy!


*I used a blood orange because that's what I had on hand, but a naval orange works too!
**There are usually a handful of broken star anise in each container, so try to use one of those. I originally made this recipe using a whole one, but found the flavor to be a bit overpowering.
