Caramelized Apple Cinnamon Granola

  • For the granola:
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2-4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil melted
  • For the apples:
  • 2 apples chopped and seeds removed
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp coconut sugar


  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Heat 2 tbsp coconut oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add chopped apples.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 tsp cinnamon and coconut sugar to apples and stir, allowing at least 5 minutes for apples to soften.
  • While apples are cooking, combine oats, cinnamon, sticks, and nutmeg in a large bowl; pour 1/4 coconut oil overtop and stir.
  • Once apples are done, add HALF of them to the bowl of oats and stir; pour mixture onto large baking sheet and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until oats have hardened into granola.
  • Remove from oven, remove cinnamon sticks (optional) and stir in the rest of the apples.
