Toasted Almond French Toast

This almond french toast uses almond extract and toasted almonds for tons of almond flavor!



For the ricotta:


  1. Whisk milk, flour, almond extract, syrup, cardamom, and cinnamon together in a bowl.
  2. Dip bread into mixture and place it directly onto a skillet and heat over medium-high and cook until both sides have set. Repeat the same process for all of the bread.
  3. For the ricotta: Stir ricotta, syrup and almond extract together, and then place a spoonful of it on top of french toast.
  4. Top french toast with toasted almonds and fresh berries. To toast almonds, simply heat oven to 350°, place almonds on a baking sheet and toast them for 8-10 minutes, checking every 2 minutes or so to make sure they don’t burn.
  5. Enjoy!


*To keep this recipe vegan, feel free to use your own vegan ricotta recipe OR to use coconut whipped cream instead, or omit all together and simply top french toast with toasted almonds and fresh fruit!
