These chocolate covered pretzels are sprinkled with orange zest for a quick and sweet holiday snack.
Orange and chocolate go together like PB & J, except that everyone knows about the PB & J combo and no one knows about orange and chocolate. So, it’s my job to tell the world through these cookies and now these pretzels.
Picture this: you’re going through life like you do, when all of the sudden your friend texts you and tells you that he/she is going to have a Christmas party in TWO DAYS. He/she doesn’t mention anything about bringing food, but you kinda sorta feel like you should. But two days? That’s so soon! PS if you have a friend who only gives you two days notice, kindly tell them they’re rude.
Rather than be mad at your friend, I’d recommend making these. Only FOUR ingredients (well, five if you count the salt) so you won’t be spending hours in the kitchen slaving over some holiday treat.
Oranges themselves I can typically take or leave, but oranges plus chocolate is a winning combination in my book. I had my brother, who had never tried the orange-chocolate combo, try one and his thought process was something like, “Oh wow… this is….interesting…good…weird….I like it.” Speaking of my brother, I feel like I mention him semi-frequently but have never showed a photo of him. …it’s because I’m embarrassed of him. I’m kidding….half kidding 😉 His name is Justin and this is us together at my college graduation (aka we need an updated photo together ASAP):
AWWWWW
But back to the pretzels… Miguel and I are celebrating Christmas in DC this year, so I’ll have to take a vote and see if people want me to make these or not. They’re super simple, so making them again would be no problemo, but I’ll have to see if they already have enough chocolate. Although, can you really ever have enough chocolate? The short answer: no. Never ever ever.

I’m allegedly cooking Christmas dinner but of course haven’t put together a list or menu or anything. I just give up on life until January.

Haha your comments about your brother made me realize I’ve never posted a picture of my sister. She never wants to take pictures with me so I just don’t bother.
I’m suuuper lazy, apparently, and the most baking I’ve done this season is watch Riley put break n’ bake cookies in the oven.
