Hi guys! How was your weekend? I spent mine in Cincinnati with some friends who I hadn’t seen in a loooong time. High school friends, to be exact. Girls weekends are the best and this one was no exception.
We arrived Friday night and spend the evening at a local bar. I got my first beer flight where I enjoyed three out of the four beers.
I know they’re not anything too fancy, but I felt fancy getting to try different types of beer. The next day was spent at the Newport Aquarium in Newport, KY.
It always fascinates me how close Cincinnati is to Kentucky. Though I live in Pittsburgh, I am originally from Ohio, which is right above Kentucky. However, when I think of Kentucky I picture it being much further south. What can I say, I was never great at geography.
We watched a shark show where two scuba divers were swimming with approximately 5 sharks. Crazy! I could never.
After all of the walking we did at the aquarium we were quite famished so we stopped at Tom+Chee, a create-your-own grilled cheese sandwich place. However, I unfortunately wasn’t feeling suuuuuper hungry, so I opted for a salad topped with grilled cheese 😉 Great compromise, if you ask me.
The late afternoon was spent watching Too Cute. Have you guys seen that show? It’s on the Discovery Channel and it showcases baby animals. I particularly love the puppy episodes baawwwwwww 🙂 After too much Too Cute, we went out to a sushi restaurant called Dancing Wasabi and I tried sushi for the first time.
I’m not going to lie, I was a bit nervous but my friends kept ranting and raving about it so I agreed to try some. OMMMG so good!! I don’t know why I had never tried it. Maybe the thought of raw fish freaked me out or something, but I can say that my taste buds were very pleased.
Later that night, we jammed out before going out and it was so much fun. I honestly don’t know if we had ever all gone out together since being 21.
Last but not least, the trip ended with an egg sandwich for breakfast 🙂
And that was my trip! Though coordinating schedules can be a challenge, I’m so glad we were able to all hang out–and for a whole weekend at that. We talked about doing it again, maybe even in Pittsburgh next time!
Q: Have you ever been to Cincinnati? Are you good or bad at geography? Have you ever seen Too Cute?
