What is your favorite dessert? Cake? Cookies? Ice cream? Pie? Growing up, I probably would have said cookies. Now that I’m older and wiser (<<yes), I’d say ice cream, hands down. I actually worked at an ice cream parlor for a summer when I came home from college. When I first started the job, I remember eating ice cream all the time and wondering when my obsession would end.
Answer: it never ended. I ate ice cream every single shift for the entire summer. Not crazy amounts of course, but I was the #1 taste tester for all new and classic flavors. Talk about the best job ever! The best part about ice cream is that it’s so versatile AND it’s perfect any time of year (yes, even when it’s cold outside).
Speaking of perfect any time of year, how do we feel about smoothies in the wintertime? I’m sure you know this, but in my opinion, smoothies are A-ok throughout the entire year, no matter the temperature outside. Especially smoothies that taste like ice cream and are only three–count ‘em–THREE ingredients. Add two more ingredients for a total of five and you’ve got yourself a full blown ice cream sundae smoothie.
There’s just something about ice cream sundae’s that makes them feel so fancy, isn’t there? Perhaps it’s the chocolate syrup drizzle or the colorful sprinkles overtop. Or both. Yes, definitely both.
This smoothie is the definition of guilt free and the perfect QUICK weekday dessert. All you have to do is combine the strawberries, yogurt and milk together in a blender and blend until everything is smooth. Then comes the fun part where you’ll add chocolate drizzle and sprinkles on top. Sprinkles equal fun, and fun is exactly what dessert should be.
Not only is this ice cream sundae smoothie fun, but it’s healthy and quick too–what’s not to love?! Find more weight loss recipes at myalli.com/recipes-for-you
