This Green Vitamin C Smoothie is an excellent way to start your day. It combines Vitamin-C packed and nutrient-dense produce into one, super healthy AND tasty green smoothie.
You knew it was coming. You practically predicted this recipe. ALL THINGS GREEN. If I’m being completely honest, I looked over my post schedule for this month and I don’t really have a ton of ‘green’ recipes planned. I know I’m supposed to—the blog world is telling me to—but I missed that memo and decided to make other healthy meals instead. Buuuuut I figure it’s only fitting for my first recipe of 2016 to be this Vitamin C smoothie.
But first, New Year’s Eve. How was yours? Mine was good…..
Picture this: you and your friends hear about this cool club (PS I’m not a club person at all) having a NYE party and you decide to buy tickets a few days in advance to secure your spot. You arrive at the venue around 10 pm only to see a mile-long line in front of the door. You immediately think MWAHHAHA SUCKAAAAS shoulda bought a ticket, and you march your way to the front of the line. …..only to find out that the line consists of people with and without tickets -_- So. Mad.
So after THAT debacle, it was a good night. It was busy but not overly crowded, they had a drum line band playing, the cocktails were on point, and there was pizza to end the night. So yeah, it was good, minus the having to wait outside part.
Speaking of Vitamin C… I know I know that’s not what we were talking about but.. Is anyone getting sick, or feeling a cold coming on? I hope not for your sake, but I know winter for a lot of people inevitably means a few more sniffles and sneezes than usual.
When you think ‘Vitamin C’, what food comes to mind? I’m going to assume you said ‘oranges’, but did you know there are plenty of other vegetables with MORE—like way more—Vitamin C than oranges? I know I know, WHO KNEW? This smoothie combines them all (well, not ALL—ALL would be like broccoli, strawberries, kale, cauliflower, kiwi and more, and that would be disgusting). Instead, this smoothie combines some of my favorites and fruits/vegetables that actually go well together. Like what, you ask? Well, orange, lemon, kiwi, ginger, and kale/spinach, depending on your personal preference.
I drank this smoothie yesterday afternoon as my in between lunch and dinner snack, but it would make an excellent breakfast smoothie as well. As always, be sure to hashtag #thealmondeater on Instagram if you make it—I love to see your creations!Print
