This Ginger Pomegranate Punch is made with pomegranate juice, ginger beer, vodka, and white wine and is the perfect party or pre-party cocktail!
After much Googling, I came to the conclusion that a cocktail with vodka and wine equals punch. The internet is usually pretty quick with answers, but I found that certain websites called vodka wine cocktails certain things while others called it something different. But, “punch” seemed to be common ground, so we’re calling this cocktail “ginger pomegranate punch”.
Oh, and you absolutely need this punch on a Friday! Make it while pomegranates are still around! Though to be honest, you can have it any time of year because all you really need is pomegranate juice, not actual pomegranates (though they are fun for garnishing purposes).
Weekend plans—do you have any? I think Miguel and I are going to dinner tonight and then possibly to a movie (we’re equally as indecisive so who really knows). I still haven’t seen Lion and I really want to, even though I know I’m going to cry like a baby the whole time, and I’m also intrigued by the Rotten Tomatoes score of the new movie Get Out. Have you seen the trailer? It looks scary but not in a cheesy scary kind of way, which I appreciate.
The other option for the evening? Drinking this punch! I still have all of the ingredients at home, so I’d be happy to whip this up before a night out on the town.
K, now let’s talk through this drink…
It’s pomegranate juice, ginger beer, tonic water, vodka, wine, and a small amount of honey and lime, which are both optional but recommended. The honey adds a slight sweetness to the drink and lime juice is good in pretty much all cocktails. I’m a little late to the party, but I’m borderline obsessed with ginger beer. A small amount packs a ton of flavor, plus I love all things ginger flavored.
