Good morning blog world–it feels so good to be back! I had a great trip but it’s always nice to get back into a regular routine again, aka blogging. I missed it, and I have much catching up to do! In case you weren’t aware, I was in Chicago for a business conference. Here’s a brief recap of my trip:
I arrived Sunday morning, went over to the McCormick Place Convention Center (which is huge, btw) with my boss to set up our booth. This isn’t the greatest picture but it’s a brief look into what the conference looked like:
Basically a ton of ginormous booths everywhere. We finished around 4 and I had the rest of the day free. Free time=shopping time, so I did some shopping and got these pants:
And this dress:
The pants are great–I have a lot of capri yoga pants but not many full length pants, so I was glad to finally buy a pair. The dress is very versatile. I wore it to work the one day and then again when I went out later at night. Woohoo!
Monday was day 1 of work, followed by a work dinner at The Chicago Chop House. The food was SO GOOD I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a good steakhouse.
Tuesday was day 2 of work, and by some luck my day ended at 3 pm which was nice. So I did a little more shopping (I couldn’t help it–I was surrounded by great stores!) and went to the fitness center to get in a good workout.
Know what else I did? I met up with Becky from Olives ‘n’ Wine for drinks! I don’t know many people who live in Chicago (by that I mean that I literally know one person) so I reached out to Becky to see if she’d want to meet up. I’m a huge fan of her blog and I was so thrilled when she agreed. We met at Gilt Bar, a dimly lit restaurant/bar with a unique drink menu and modern ambiance.
We chatted about Chicago, work and blogging of course 🙂
Wednesday was my last day, which consisted of work for a few hours and flying home late at night. All-and-all it was a good trip and nice to get out of the office for a few days. I have today and tomorrow off from work, which I’m more than happy about–I’ll have time to catch up and get stuff done!
I’ll be posting a little more about my trip tomorrow. Enjoy your Thursday, everyone!
Q: Have you ever been to Chicago? What’s your favorite city?
I feel like I’ll always be a Pittsburgh girl but who knows! I did really like Chicago and I still have A LOT of major cities I’d like to visit.
