This Boozy Blood Orange Punch is made with vodka and Prosecco, is full of fruity flavor and is the perfect wintertime cocktail.
Friday cocktails are a necessity, especially this time of year. Between spending time with family and friends (fun drinking) and spending time with family members that talk too much and are all up in your business (annoyed drinking) and the stress of holiday shopping and whatnot (pass me another drink please!), this blood orange punch is absolutely needed.
I don’t know about you guys, but the next few weeks are busy, busy, busy for Miguel and I. He’s finishing up school (aka multiple papers are due) and I’m trying to get ahead of schedule with blogging so I don’t feel stressed while we’re in DC for Christmas (ha! I always feel stress when I go away, but I’m going to try to be cool). We also have multiple holiday parties to attend, which is bizarre because we have four total friends and usually have one party tops. Woohoo! I’m excited—though busy, this time of year is my favorite.
Can we also talk about how excited I get when I see blood oranges at the grocery store for the first time in months?! They’re just so stinkin’ pretty! Take this blood orange cake for example. Hellooooo, that icing wouldn’t even be possible without beautiful blood oranges, and neither would the color of this drink. Errrr…punch. Guys, I also really struggled with what to call this. It’s a cocktail with vodka and Prosecco… so…punch?! Suuuuuure.
Ok but let’s talk about it real quick. You essentially combine the juice from blood oranges, actual orange juice (because squeezing a bunch of blood oranges gets a bit tedious), vodka, Prosecco, and rosemary in a pitcher and then strain out any pulp and the rosemary. It’s best if you let it sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour, which will allow the orange juice to soak up the rosemary flavor, but if you need a drink STAT, just omit the rosemary or leave it as a garnish.
Drink up friends, you’re gonna need it!Print
