Hi guys! How was your weekend? I mentioned Friday that I was going to DC so naturally mine was awesome. I didn’t take enough pics for a full recap post but I’ll do my best to fill you in and you can look at food photos instead. Deal? Deal.
We arrived in Virginia Friday around 7 pm and were immediately greeted by Miguel’s sister’s new pup. I died. You may or may not have seen the photo I posted to Instagram, but by the end of the weekend we were besties. Anyway, Friday night we had made plans to go out with Miguel’s friends and that’s exactly what we did. Oh and side note: we were in this gigantic bar, like huge, and there were exactly two stalls in the women’s restroom. TWO. What’s up with that?
Saturday morning, I went with Miguel and his siblings to go see ‘Maleficent’ and we all loved it! I highly recommend. Saturday afternoon I napped and played with the pup which was wonderfully relaxing. Saturday evening we made plans to go out again but this time in DC. Often times when I say that Miguel and I go to DC we actually just go to Virginia and never actually venture into downtown DC so it was nice to be in DC for a change.
The first bar we attended was a regular sit down bar aka a chill bar aka my kinda place. The second place we went to was called Dirty Martini, a restaurant and lounge that turns into a club on Saturday nights. I’m not a club person—not for any real reason—it’s just typically not my vibe. So we get there.. Actually let me start by describing my outfit: navy blue pants, a gray crop top (it’s not even a real crop top..it’s just baggy), and my hair was in a messy bun. A MESSY BUN. I know I do fashion posts here and there but I don’t think you’ll ever see me do a ‘What to Wear to the Club’ fashion post. #embarrassing
When we arrived everyone was dancing and getting crazy (I mean that is what you do at clubs..) and I was still feeling very underdressed. Luckily all it took was a few drinks to make me feel like a regular. Sunday Miguel’s cousins came over and we hung out with them for a bit and then we said our goodbyes.
It was a wonderful weekend but afterward all I wanted to do was eat kale. So I came home, made this salad, shot this salad, ate this salad and am now presenting you with this incredibly delicious salad.Print
