Whether you’re short on time or just lazy, this 3 Ingredient Smoothie is just what you need. Three ingredients and two minutes later, and you’ll have a filling and nutritious green smoothie.
So you know those days.. yes, THOSE DAYS. Those days when it’s Monday. Those days when you accidentally hit the ‘snooze’ button 12 times. Those days when you walk out the door and realize you forgot to brush your teeth (no? just me? so gross). Those days when you know you need to eat breakfast but LITERALLY don’t have time. Perhaps that morning is today. If so, here’s to hoping your day gets a tiny bit better. I pinky promise it’ll already be on the ‘up’ if you make this smoothie, because this smoothie requires just 3 ingredients and all of 2 minutes to make. And I KNOW you have two minutes to spare. If you happen to be 2 minutes late to work, explain to your boss that, without breakfast, you are a hangry human being and extremely unproductive when you fail to eat in the morning. He/she will hopefully understand.
So anyway. Mondays. I love Mondays. If any day is going to be like the one described above, it’s going to be a Tuesday. Tuesdays are my crazy busy no-time-for-rest days. But I gotta say, even on my BUSIEST days, I always make time for breakfast. Even when I’m not that hungry, I prepare something and save it for when I am hungry, typically 20 minutes later. It’s how I work.
If I had to describe this smoothie in one word, it would be “basic”, but basic in the best way possible. Though it may be basic, there are several add-ins you can use to jazz it up a bit if time allows. One thing that’s NOT basic? Almond Breeze Vanilla Almondmilk Coconutmilk blend. Ohhhh yeah. You want to add automatic flavor to your smoothie without having to use a ton of ingredients? This milk is the trick—no joke. Vanilla+almond+coconut=basically all of my favorite milk flavors packed into one! The reeeeally wonderful thing about this 3 ingredient smoothie is that you can get pretty much anyone to drink it, even people who are “creeped out” by green smoothies. Why? Because it tastes just like banana with a bit of sweetness from the milk. If they don’t like bananas, tell them to get it together.
I’m kidding. Sort of. But on a serious note, if you/your friend who you’re forcing to drink this green smoothie doesn’t like bananas, tell them to try it with an apple or two instead. Or, they can obviously sub it for their favorite fruit, since it’s such a versatile recipe!
The really cool thing is that, similar to most other smoothies out there, you can customize the smoothie to your liking by adding in fun things to take the flavor to the next level. Some of my favorite add-ins for this particular smoothie are peanut butter, chia seeds and/or shredded coconut. Add ‘em all or add just one—either way, it’ll take the flavor up a notch for sure.
I’m going to guess by this point you’ve stopped reading and are already sipping on this smoothie since ya know, it takes NO TIME AT ALL. Regardless, I hope your Monday is fab-u-lous!
