Tomorrow is my birthday. A whopping 24 years old….. It seems the older I get the more reflective I become. Rather than doing a full on reflection post, I think it might be more fun to, well, drink.
I’ve been loving on pears this fall. Between this salad and these muffins and now THIS drink, you would think I’m obsessed. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods both have a way of suckering me into buying things I’d never think to buy. Like pear juice, for example. What the eff was I going to do with pear juice? I had no idea, but I was intrigued, so I bought it and thankfully put it to good use.
I actually made this juice two weekends ago. Miguel was gone for the afternoon doing stuff for the Army and by the time he got home I was half drunk. “Have you been drinking?” “What?” “Are you drunk?” “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” [insert emoji with angelic halo around its head]…..I was recipe testing, which is a totally valid excuse. I eat/drink every single thing that I make on TAE, including the alcohol.
My exciting birthday plans include working in the morning and afternoon and maybe seeing friends at night. I’m keeping it low key this year. and I’m quite alright with that. As long as I’m surrounded by good company with a spiced pear cocktail in my hand, I’m fairly certain I will have a good night. If you aren’t going to drink on your birthday, then when are you going to?
My birthday wish? That you make this drink so we can virtually enjoy it together. 🙂 Cheers to 24 and the adventures that lie ahead! Twenty three was good, but I have a feeling 24 is going to be even better.Print
