K so I know yesterday I was chatting about fall like I was so excited for it, but I think I’m kind of torn. I also kind of think I’m delirious considering it’s 80 degrees outside. IT’S NOT FALL. To prove my point, I’m showing off a very summer-y outfit today: a romper and a fedora, which should in fact be worn together at all times if and when possible 🙂
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a fashion post and, since I’m going to Puerto Rico soon, I figure I should begin planning my outfits. I’M KIDDING I’m not that crazy. Eh, I’m kind of that crazy. I figure it’s going to be pretty hot and humid there, so dresses and rompers will most likely be my go-to’s. Although, Miguel did tell me the good news that September is [supposedly] hurricane season in PR. I should have played it cool, but my initial response was ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!! I’ve been spending my days dreaming about lying by the pool sipping on pina coladas. How am I supposed to do that if it rains?! Once again, I’m getting ahead of myself.
Now onto the outfit talk. I like this black romper for multiple reasons. 1) It’s a solid color. I once bought a floral print romper from Forever 21. Besides the fact that it made me look like wallpaper, it also shrank in the wash and therefore went up my butt when I wore it. So basically, I never wore it. I think this one is a good length. 2) It can be dressed up or dressed down. Overall, I’d say most rompers are more casual than dressy, but since this one is black, I think it goes nicely with a pair of casual heels. But with that said, I’ve also worn it as a swim suit cover up. Versatility people!

I also really love fedoras, but I’m very selective about when I wear them. I feel totally comfortable wearing them when I’m at the beach or on a boat, but not so much at the grocery store. Is that silly? It makes perfect sense in my mind but as I’m typing it I feel like maybe that doesn’t make sense. I like how they look. They’re casual and are perfect for covering up bad hair days. Ahh well… I know I will be packing it for vacation and that’s all that matters.
As a side note, I also really like rompers because they help to avoid the whole ‘what should I wear with these shorts/this shirt’ conflict that I go through on an almost daily basis. Rompers are a shirt and shorts in one! What a lifesaver/time saver [insert crying laughing emoji]. It’s the little things. On that note, I’m off to work Have a great day 🙂
Q: How do you feel about fedoras? Do you own a romper?
