So you know how everyone talks about chocolate covered strawberries and how they’re the bomb dot com? Yeah well I was going to make a chocolate strawberry smoothie only to realize I was out of strawberries so I thought: What about a chocolate blueberry smoothie? Mhmmm..
Funny story about blueberries—I don’t think I tried a blueberry until I was in high school. Yeah, I used to be a really picky eater and would hardly ever try new things. My mom would buy all sorts of berries and the only kind I would eat were strawberries. I think it’s normal for little kids to be picky eaters but high schoolers? Wtf. I’m so glad I’m over that phase and on to bigger and better things, aka blueberries.
Not only is this smoothie good for you, but it’s also vegan and totally delicious. Though I’m not a vegan, I sometimes accidentally make vegan recipes and when I do, I get excited because I know there are plenty of vegans out there (some who may even read this blog!) who can appreciate when a recipe is veganized<<I’m making this a real word starting….NOW.
- 2 cups frozen blueberries
- 2 tbsp raw cacao
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 3 tbsp + 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1 cup almond milk
- Place ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
